Watch: Life on board aid flotilla bound for Gaza

The aid flotilla bound for Gaza is preparing to set sail again this weekend, after reported drone attacks and poor weather delayed its progress.

The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) departed Barcelona on 31 August, with the aim of breaking Israel's blockade of Gaza.

The fleet of boats carrying supplies and hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists including Greta Thunberg, have been docked in Tunisia since last Sunday.

GSF said on Wednesday that one of its boats was attacked by a drone at Sidi Bou Said port, the second such strike in two days.

However, Tunisian authorities have disputed reports of drone strikes.

Irish human rights activist and family therapist Caoimhe Butterly is on board the legal support boat, the 'Shireen'. The boat is named after Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was killed in the West Bank in May 2022.

Ms Butterly has been providing mental health support to passengers and crew.

"There are so many people here from diverse walks of life - medics, teachers, artists, athletes, mariners, engineers, architects, grandparents, students. It's clear that when governments fail that people will sail," she said.
