Local children said they were "devastated" to discover damage caused to their playground after an apparent arson attack in south Dublin.
A slide structure in the Sean Moore Park playground in Sandymount went on fire at around 9.40pm on Sunday night.
"I think it's very sad for the people who just got to the playground and wanted to play on it and they were super excited," said one girl.
Meanwhile, a boy at the site suggested that "it might be mean guys".
A disappointed patron said he comes to the playground around "a million times".

A girl said she was "devastated" to find out about the destruction of the slide through a video.
"I wanted to see how burned it was," she said. "I hope they fix it soon."

The disappointed youngsters' parents said the playground is now an "eyesore".
One father said: "The kids loved doing down the slide and climbing up and all. It's terrible."
"It ruins it for the kids and the people in the area," he said.
A mother said it is the "fifth or sixth time that this has happened".
We are absolutely raging," she added. "It's terrible for the community."
Little point repairing before Halloween
Meanwhile, Sandymount Tidy Towns said there is little point repairing the park before Halloween as they feel more fires are likely during that period.
Committee member Maxine Pilkington said they "pinpointed this area purely because of its gorgeous location between the beach, the four national schools and right beside the village".
"Tidy Towns have been so proud of it," she said.
Fellow committee member Ann Carroll said she was at the playground two weeks ago with her children.
"They were climbing up on that tower," she said. "It is the main attraction."
Local Labour councillor Dermot Lacey has called for more action to deter this action going forward.
"We do need CCTV," he said. "We do need additional gardaí. We need to make the park more secure in the future."
The damage in Sandymount comes after playgrounds in Lucan and Finglas were also damaged by fire in the past fortnight.
Meanwhile a playground in Meakstown, Lanesborough Park, Dublin 11, was damaged on 30 August.
