Man appears in court charged with murder of man in Co Armagh

A 39-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in Co Armagh last week.

The body of Christopher Burns, 40, was found in a house in Cusher Green, a housing estate in the village of Mountnorris on Thursday morning.

He had suffered serious head and facial injuries.

Aaron McAnulty, from Cusher Green in the village, appeared at Newry Magistrates' Court this morning.

He is charged with the murder of Mr Burns, known as Chrissy, at some time last Wednesday or Thursday.

Originally from Warrenpoint, the victim had been living in the house where his body was found for a number of years.

A PSNI detective sergeant told the court she could connect the defendant to the charge.

There was no application for bail and Aaron McAnulty was remanded in custody to appear in court again by video link later this month.
