Gardaí have recovered the body of a man from the water at Wicklow Harbour yesterday evening.
It followed a search and rescue operation after the man got into difficulty while swimming.
The man was recovered by the Garda Sub Aqua unit, who were assisted by the RNLI and Coast Guard.
The man, aged in his 40s, has since been removed from the scene and taken to St Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown where a post mortem will take place in due course.
Investigations are ongoing and a file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court.
