The proposed removal of the 'triple lock' has moved back into the spotlight following Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill's reference to it during the speech at the Béal na Bláth commemoration this weekend.
"We cannot be held by others. We must remove the triple lock and take charge of our own affairs and be held to account for own decisions," she told a crowd gathered to mark the 103rd anniversary of the ambush and shooting dead of Michael Collins.
