Tributes have been paid to nine-year-old Joey Forker who has been described as being "larger than life".
Joey died after an incident at a premises in Co Donegal on Friday evening.
The incident, which involved machinery, happened in An Clochán Liath.
A Health and Safety Authority investigation is under way following the incident, and a file is being prepared for the coroners court.
His funeral mass is due to be held at midday on Thursday in St Crona's Church in An Clochán Liath, followed by burial at Magheragallon Cemetery in Gaobh Dobhair.
The young boy had made his First Holy Communion at the same church this summer.
Parish Priest Fr Johnny Moore said that Joey was a "little life force".
"Once people met him, they didn't forget him," he said. Fr Moore said he remembered him as a "nice, lively boy" who was a "character in class".
He said Joey was "full of joys and had loads to give", adding that he would stand out in a crowd.
"He was in the middle of everything," said Fr Moore. "There are no words."
Fr Moore said that the community is "shocked" and at a "bit of a loss". He said they will rally together in the coming days and that the "best will come out" in people.
Hundreds of tributes have poured in across social media, as people and local community groups express their condolences to his family.
Joey had been a pupil at Scoil Chróine in An Clochán Liath.
Today, the school said he would be "remembered with warmth, joy, and affection", adding that he "brought light and happiness to those around him".
In a statement, it said: "The entire school community of Scoil Chróine is heartbroken today following the tragic passing of one of our beloved students Joey Forker.
"We extend our deepest sympathy to Joey's family, friends, and to all who knew and loved him. We cannot begin to imagine the pain they are experiencing, but we hold them close in our hearts at this most difficult time.
"Joey will be remembered with warmth, joy, and affection by everyone here at Scoil Chróine. He brought light and happiness to those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
"As a school community, we will continue to keep Joey and his family in our thoughts and prayers. We ask God to surround them with strength, comfort, and love in the days ahead".
