A man who was arrested following an incident in which a young girl was struck by an e-bike in Dublin yesterday evening, leaving her hospitalised with serious injuries, has been released without charge.
Gardaí have said a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The incident happened at Curragh Hall in Tyrellstown at around 8.20pm.
The girl, who is four, was struck by what gardaí describe as a "Surron type e-bike", which failed to remain at the scene.
She was brought to Children's Health Ireland Temple Street, which she is being treated for serious injuries.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward, in particular anyone who may have witnessed a Surron type e bike travelling in the area at any point yesterday.
Those with camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in Tyrellstown, particularly the Curragh Hall Crescent area between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, are asked to make it available.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on (01) 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
