HSA probe after boy, 9, dies in incident at Donegal premises

A Health and Safety Authority investigation is under way following the death of a young boy at a premises in Co Donegal.

The incident, which involved machinery, happened in An Clochán Liath yesterday evening.

The nine-year-old boy, who has been named locally as Joey Forker, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The Health and Safety Authority was notified and will attend the scene.

A file is being prepared for the Coroner's Court.

Fianna Fáil TD Pat 'the Cope' Gallagher expressed his thoughts and prayers to the family involved, and praised emergency services during what he described as "an extremely difficult time".

Sinn Féin TD Pearse Doherty said: "My thoughts and prayers are with all of those following the heartbreaking news from Dungloe."
