Home owners with spare rooms are being urged to consider renting them to students in Dublin.
Officers from UCD Students' Union have been leafleting commuters in the city centre, asking if they could be a solution to an acute shortage of student accomodation.
The 'digs drive' has become a mainstay of the academic calendar, with UCDSU describing it as a potential 'win-win for students and homeowners alike'.
