New stamps 'a tribute to the incredible work of youth clubs'

An Post has launched two new stamps recognising the role of youth clubs in Ireland.

The organisation said the stamps are designed "to celebrate the safe and welcoming spaces that youth clubs provide".

They were created with the help of children from Belvedere Youth Club (BYC) in Dublin's north inner city, who served as hand models for the designs on the stamps.

BYC is believed to be Ireland’s oldest youth club, founded in 1918.

CEO of Belvedere Youth Club Jenny Courtney said: "They're putting their stamp on the world.

"This stamp is going all over the world."

Ireland has one of the highest rates of youth club participation in Europe, with nearly a quarter of all young adults having been involved in a club.

An Post’s Stamp Design Manager, Aileen Mooney, said: "This stamp issue is a tribute to the incredible work of youth clubs across Ireland.

"These organisations play a crucial role in empowering our young people, offering a safe space where they can build friendships, learn new skills, and truly belong," she said.

"These stamps highlight the invaluable contribution of those who work in youth clubs to our society."
