Petunia and her proud owner Shannon Nyman walked away with $5,000 and the prestigious title.

This year's winners included Poppy, a six-year-old Chinese Crested from Tbilisi, Georgia and Jinny Lu, a Pug.

Other non-winners included an 11.5-year-old dog named Merle Haggard from Long Beach, California.

Poppy's owner said that her pup's prize was a "nice validation of her unique style".

She says they "celebrate how cute and unique and wonderful she is".
