A man has died following a crash involving two cars in Co Westmeath.
The incident happened on the N4 at Ballinalack at around 4.20pm.
The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 60s, was brought to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar but died a short time later.
The driver of the other car, a woman in her 60s, suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore.
Gardaí say no other injuries have been reported.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are asking any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area between 3.30pm and 4.30pm to contact them.
