The young boy who drowned in Co Sligo on Saturday has been remembered as "always smiling, warm, and full of kindness".
Seven-year-old Alan Singh from Ballisodare got into difficulty in the water at Lissadell Beach.
He was airlifted to Sligo University Hospital, where he later died.
Alan was a Second Class pupil at St John's National School in Ballisodare.
School principal Mary Curley said in a statement that he left a "lasting impression on everyone who knew him".
"Alan was a much-loved pupil - always smiling, warm, and full of kindness. He was friendly, hardworking, and a talented young artist who brought joy and creativity to our classrooms. His gentle nature and positive spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him."
St John’s National School is open today and psychologists from the National Educational Psychological Service are there to offer support to the school community.
The school also said, "resources will be provided to parents to help support their children through this time of grief".
"We respectfully ask for privacy for Alan’s family and for our school community as we all come to terms with this tragic loss. On behalf of everyone at St John’s, we extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences," Principal Mary Curley said.
Alan’s funeral mass will be held in Church of the Assumption in Collooney in Sligo on Thursday.
