A woman in her 60s has died and three others were injured following a three-vehicle collision in Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
The incident happened on the N25 at Moonameen at around 2.10pm.
The woman, who was a passenger in one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on her body.
The driver and passenger of a second car, both aged in their 50s, sustained "serious injuries" that are believed to be "non-life-threatening at this time", gardaí said.
They were taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment.
Another woman aged in her 60s who was driving a third vehicle was taken by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital for treatment of "serious injuries" that are also believed to be "non-life-threatening at this time", gardaí said.
The road is closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene.
Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí have appealed to any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area between 1.20pm and 2.20pm to make this footage available to them.
