Watch: Majority of Irish adults targeted by scams

78% of Irish adults are being targeted with scam text messages, emails, phone calls or online content at least once a month, according to new research by the Banking & Payments Federation of Ireland's FraudSmart initiative.

The survey was conducted in February and it found that the prevalence of scam communications is rising, with 45% of consumers noting they are being targeted more compared to this time last year.

We asked people in Dublin city centre about the scams they have seen and whether they are surprised to hear that over three quarters of adults are being targeted regularly by scams.
