All seven seats on the Administrative Panel have been filled in the Seanad elections.

Fianna Fáil's Mark Daly took the first seat on the Administrative Panel after exceeding the quota in the first count.

Former Independent TD Cathal Berry failed in his bid to take a Seanad seat on the same panel after being unsuccessful in the General Election also.

Fine Gael's Garret Ahearn and Martin Conway took the second and third seats on the panel.

Also elected were Independent Eileen Flynn, Sinn Féin's Nicole Ryan, Fianna Fáil’s Fiona O'Loughlin and Fianna Fáil’s Diarmuid Wilson.

Over the weekend, the 11 seats of the Agricultural Panel were also filled.

Those deemed to be elected on the Agricultural Panel were Malcolm Noonan (Green Party), Joanne Collins (Sinn Féin), Victor Boyhan (Independent), Paul Daly (Fianna Fáil), Niall Blaney (Fianna Fáil), Teresa Costello (Fianna Fáil), Eileen Lynch (Fine Gael), Sarah O'Reilly (Aontú), Paraic Brady (Fine Gael), Maria Byrne (Fine Gael) and PJ Murphy (Fine Gael).

Those elected to the Industrial and Commercial Panel include Sharon Keogan, Aidan Davitt, Mary Fitzpatrick, Garret Kelleher, Linda Nelson Murray, Laura Harmon, Frances Patricia Black, Ollie Crowe and Conor Murphy.

There were a few high-profile defeats in the Seanad elections.

Former Fianna Fáil minister of state Anne Rabbitte, who lost her Galway East Dáil seat, was also unsuccessful in her bid to win a Seanad seat.

Her party colleague Joe Flaherty, who did not get a seat in Longford-Westmeath, and Fine Gael parliamentary chairman Alan Farrell, who lost out in Dublin Fingal East, were also unsuccessful.

Fianna Fáil’s Lorraine Clifford Lee missed out by two-thirds of a vote.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin is expected to announce his 11 nominees later in the week.
