An investigation is under way after a prison officer was assaulted in Mountjoy Prison.
Gardaí said the officer is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the Mater Hospital.
They added investigations are ongoing.
In a post on X, Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan said he is "extremely concerned" to hear that the officer was assaulted.
"I wish him a full recovery and can assure people that this serious criminal offence will be investigated thoroughly so that justice will be done," he said.
