As counting continues in the 2025 Seanad election, students at TU Dublin have welcomed the news that a new Higher Education constituency will be in place for the next election and that they will be able to have their voices heard.
A new six-seat 'Higher Education' constituency will replace the existing National University of Ireland and University of Dublin (Trinity College Dublin) constituencies for the next Seanad election.
It is hoped the new constituency will ensure different voices and ideas among graduates are represented in the Seanad as graduates from an extended 19 designated institutions will now be eligible to register to vote.
