A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of William Moorehouse in Bray last Sunday night.

Gardaí say the man in his 30s is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, at a garda station in the Wexford/Wicklow Division.

Six people who were arrested as part of the investigation have been released without charge.

The five men aged in their 20s, 30s and 40s and a juvenile were released from custody.

Mr Moorehouse was found dead in the playground at Ballywaltrim on Sunday night after he was stabbed several times.

A post-mortem examination was carried out by State Pathologist Dr Sally Anne Collis yesterday. The results are not being released for operational reasons.

Detectives believe that the stabbing followed a fight which had been arranged between members of the Travelling community who were in dispute.

However, they are treating this as an isolated incident and not part of a feud.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone with with camera footage, (including dashcam) from the vicinity of the playground off Boghall Road at the time of the incident, to contact Bray Garda Station on 01 666 5300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
