Watch: Ireland prepares for European Dodgeball Championship

With Ireland hosting the European Dodgeball Championships in Co Limerick later this year, one member of the team is hopeful that it will inspire the next generation of players.

Garvan McEvoy is a teacher at St Patrick's Boys’ National School in Hollypark in Dublin and has been playing dodgeball for over ten years.

He said the game is perfect for the classroom because it teaches the fundamental movements needed in lots of sports.

Mr McEvoy said that the upcoming championship could help the sport gain popularity and grow in Ireland.

It’s a bold strategy. Time will tell if it pays off.
