Person comes forward to gardaí after Dublin hit-and-run

A person has made a voluntary statement to gardaí in connection with a hit-and-run in Dublin.

The incident, involving a car and a pedestrian in his 40s, occurred on Lower Rathmines Road in Rathmines, at around 8.45pm yesterday.

The man was taken to St James's Hospital in Dublin, where he is understood to be in a stable condition.

The car involved did not remain at the scene.

A person of interest has since voluntarily came forward and made a statement, gardaí said.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses but have said they are not looking for any other vehicles in relation to the incident.
