Gardaí believe they have established most of the facts surrounding the incident and are following a definite line of inquiry.
They believe this is a self-contained incident within the house and within the group of people involved.
They are not looking for anyone else at present.
Gardaí are also concerned that certain groups and individuals - those with anti-immigrant and far-right sentiments - are trying to use this incident for their own ends.
They are spreading disinformation and misinformation online, to engender fear, and to create an impression of a wider danger to society and to foster anti-migrant and anti-immigrant feeling.
Gardaí are stressing this case is not connected to international protection.
The main suspect is a UK resident who has residency status there for many years and is not an asylum seeker.
