A district court judge has refused bail in the case of a woman who allegedly had all the items needed for a "meth lab" in her apartment when gardaí searched it on Thursday.

Anna Entrambasaguas, who is in her 40s and a mother of one, appeared before a special sitting of Cork District Court this evening.

Ms Entrambasaguas of Apt 2, Knocknasartnett, Killarney, Co Kerry, was charged with seven offences, including possession for sale or supply of crystal meth and with possession of forged or stolen driving licences.

Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given by Garda Ger O'Sullivan who said he charged her shortly before 8.30pm last night at Killarney Garda Station and that she made no reply when cautioned.

Gda O'Sullivan objected to bail and said more serious charges were expected in the case.

Defence solicitor Brendan Aherne acknowledged that the matter was serious.

He stated that his client was willing to abide by the most stringent of bail conditions set down by the court.

Ms Entrambasaguas is charged that on 31 October she had in her possession at her home crystal meth for sale or supply.

She was also charged with possession of two stolen driving licences and possession of two forged Czech Republic driving licences.

The defendant was also charged with having a machine specially designed for making a false instrument.

She was further charged with having crystal meth in her possession.

Judge Joanne Carroll refused bail in the case.

She remanded Ms Entrambasaguas in custody to appear before Tralee District Court on 6 November.

Free legal aid was granted.
