Two men have died following a three-vehicle road collision in Oldcastle, Co Meath, with two others taken to hospital with injuries.

The collision, involving motorcycles, occurred on the R195 road at Bellaney at around 4:40pm.

Gardaí said the men, aged in their 30s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí said two other men were taken to hospital with injuries, with one man sustaining injuries which they described as "serious".

Emergency services are currently attending the scene

The fourth man was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries described as "non-life-threatening at this time".

The R195, between Oldcastle and Castlepollard, is closed for a technical examination which will be conducted by forensic collision investigators.

Emergency services are currently attending the scene and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for information.
