The Green Party has held a campaign launch for next month's European Parliament election.

It is putting forward MEPs Ciaran Cuffe for Dublin, Grace O'Sullivan for the South constituency and Senator Pauline O’Reilly for Midlands North West.

Mr Cuffe called for a tax on aviation fuel and called for airlines to pay taxes as motorists and farmers are already being levied.

The party said it has been pushing the same policies since the 1980s but its agenda is now mainstream.
