Palestinian flag drawn in the sand of Co Waterford cove

An artist has drawn a 500ft Palestinian flag in the sand at Kilmurrin Cove in Co Waterford.

It took Sean Corcoran three hours to create the huge picture earlier today.

Mr Corcoran said the work "celebrates" Ireland's decision to recognise a Palestinian state.

Mr Corcoran's interpretation of the Palestinian flag spans the width of the beach.

"Norway and Spain also declared their recognition of the state of Palestine today.

"I believe this is an important move and that other nations will now also show their solidarity with the Palestinian people that are suffering so much," he said.
