An elderly woman who was assaulted in Dundalk on 3 May has died.
Patricia 'Pat' Muckian, who was aged in her 80s, died in a Dublin hospital yesterday - ten days after the incident at the Glenwood Estate in Dundalk.
A post-mortem examination was carried out earlier today, however gardaí said the results will not be released for operational reasons.
Two other women, aged in their 40s and 70s, were injured in the same incident.
Nicholas Muckian, 47, with an address at Glenwood in Dundalk, appeared in court last week charged with assault causing harm to three women on 3 May at the same location.
He was further charged with unlawfully intimidating another person with a hatchet.
He was remanded in custody to appear again before Dundalk District Court on Wednesday 15 May.
