A 41-year-old Irish woman has died after she was stabbed at a bar in New York.

A man also suffered stab wounds in the incident at the Céilí House pub in Maspeth, Queens yesterday evening.

The incident happened at the Céilí House bar on Saturday evening

The woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

It is understood she was originally from the Midlands.
