Wind, rain warnings for several counties expire

A Status Yellow wind and rain warning that was issued for eight counties has expired.

The warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Galway, Mayo and Wexford came into effect at 2am and expired at 11pm.

Elsewhere, a Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick between 11pm and 5pm tomorrow.

Winds are due to be strong and gusty at times resulting in wave overtopping and difficult conditions on the roads.

In Northern Ireland, the UK Met Office has also issued a Yellow rain warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry.

Heavy rain is expected between 4am and 11am which may lead to some disruption to transport.
