Smyths Toy Stores has said gift cards are not being accepted in their shops again today.
Customers first reported problems redeeming the vouchers yesterday, which the company said on its website was due to a technical issue.
The problem is reported to have affected shops in Ireland and the UK with customers only being aware of an issue when they presented the gift cards to cashiers at the point of purchase.
Smyths' website states that the difficulties with the gift cards are affecting in-store purchases and not online and the cards can still be used on the website for home delivery and click and collect.
On its website, the toy store has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
