The 2024 Paris Olympics will introduce the sport of breaking or breakdancing to the Olympic programme for the first time.
The style of dance originated in the United States in the 1970s, emerging from hip hop culture in the Bronx.
Pupils at one Dublin school got a flavour of what next year's breaking battles will bring when Leon Dwyer paid them a visit.
Dwyer is hoping to be the first Irish breaker to qualify for the Olympics.
He visited St. Luke's National School in Tyrrelstown as part of the Olympic Movement Breaks initiative which aims to help primary school pupils to be more physically active.
"Inspiring young kids is one of my goals. I want to make a path for the next generation coming up," Dwyer said.
