A warning has been issued by the Health Service Executive after two e-cigarette products were found to contain illegal amounts of nicotine.

The products are R and M Tornado 9000 Disposable Blueberry Cherry Cranberry and WGA The Crystal Pro Max + 10K Puffs Blueberry Raspberry.

The HSE said it has contacted Irish distributors of e-cigarettes and refill containers over the discovery.

Anyone who bought the products can return them to the shop they were purchased in and retailers have been asked to stop selling them.

The HSE's National Environmental Health Service, National Tobacco Control Office submitted two RAPEX alert notifications to the European Safety Gate after it discovered the products contained illegal amounts of nicotine.

Regional Chief Environmental Health Officer, Environmental Health Service with the HSE Shane Keane said: "As a precautionary measure our message for the public is to check the products you may have against the products involved in this alert.

"If you have any of these products, we want you to stop using it and return it to the shop where you bought it."

Retailers that stock the products are asked to contact the HSE at info.tpd@hse.ie.
