Over 3,100 college place offers have been issued to students in the second round of offers from the Central Applications Office (CAO).
The CAO says that of the 3,105 offers to students, 2,106 were Level 8 offers and 999 were Levels 7 and 6. 845 students received an offer for the first time.
The offers were issued at 2pm today and students have until 3pm on 13 September to accept it.
Applicants who have accepted one of their course choices in the first round may still receive a higher offer in the second round if eligible and are able to accept this in place of the first-round offer.
Students will have two days to respond and the third round of offers will be issued on Tuesday 19 September.
The Head of Communications for CAO has advised students to consider their options.
Eileen Keleghan said: "Many of the applicants receiving a second round offer today may have already accepted an offer in Round One, and it is important that they take the time to decide between these courses and inform CAO before the reply date of this Wednesday, 13 September at 3pm if they wish to accept the new offer. Accepting the new offer will automatically cancel a previous acceptance.
"If this is an applicant's first offer, they can choose to accept this offer and this will not prevent them from receiving a higher preference course in a later offer round if they are deemed eligible. It is important to note, however, that the majority of offers have been issued at this stage and this may be the only offer that they will receive."

Guidance Counsellor Betty McLaughlin said that the new offer does not have to be accepted if an applicant is happy to take the course that they already have been offered.
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, she said: "That's important to note, that if they have already accepted their course by the 5th of September, which was that acceptance date and they're happy, and they have now settled themselves, and they have come around to thinking, I would actually prefer this, and I'm happy with this.
"They can hold that course. If they wish, of course, to accept the new offer, all they've got to do is to accept it on their 'My Application’ section of the CAO website."
Ms McLaughlin said it is a short time to accept the offer.
She added: "It's very tight because in their first round, they had six days to make their mind up as to which course, or whether they were going to accept the course, but today, the offers [are] out at 2pm today, must be accepted at the very latest by 3pm on Wednesday, the 13th of September, or they will forfeit that offer."
