Two men in their 20s have been arrested by detectives investigating criminality linked to the PSNI data breach last month.

The pair, aged 21 and 22, are being held for questioning under the Terrorism Act following a search in Portadown, Co Armagh.

Personal details, including rank and station, of police officers and civilian staff were accidentally published online following a freedom of information request in August.

Detective Chief Inspector Avine Kelly said: "We continue to work toward establishing those who possess information relating to the data breach on 8 August and will take action to ensure that any criminality identified is dealt with robustly to keep communities, and our officers and staff who serve them, safe".

PSNI Chief Constable Simon Byrne, said at the time that the leaked information had fallen into the hands of dissident republicans.
