A man in his 70s was hospitalised after being attacked during an aggravated burglary in south Dublin this morning.
Three other people were also held against their will during the incident.
The injured man was taken to St Vincent's Hospital after a number of men dressed as workers came to the house at Carrickbrennan Lawn in Monkstown at around 8.15am.
Gardaí say that the men forced their way into the house and held the occupants there before taking a number of items and leaving the scene on foot.
The victim's injuries are reported to be non life-threatening.
Gardaí in Dún Laoghaire are now appealing for witnesses.
Anyone who was in the Carrickbrennan Lawn and Monkstown village area between 7.30am and 9.30am this morning, and who may have video or dashcam footage, is asked to contact them on 01 666 50000.
