Gardaí in Limerick have ruled out foul play in the death of a middle aged woman whose body was found in her home in Newcastle West last evening.

This follows the results of a post-mortem examination carried out at University Hospital Limerick earlier today.

In a statement this evening, Gardaí said that the findings are not being released "for operational reasons".

A file is to be prepared for the Coroner's Court.

The woman, who was in her 50s, was found dead in her ground floor apartment on the Templegreen estate on the outskirts of the west Limerick town just after 5 o'clock last evening.
