The Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) has issued a recall for models of Bluebell baby monitors.
ComReg said the affected models are the Bluebell Baby Monitor 9-in-1, Bluebell 8-in-1 HD Baby Camera Monitor, Bluebell Smart Baby Monitor, Bluebell Baby Monitor 7-in-1, Bluebell Baby Monitor and the Bluebell Baby Cam.
In a statement, it said the recall was issued as the products are "no longer safe to use as there is an issue with the data transfer between the monitor and the app that supports the monitor system".
Comreg also said: "There is a potential risk of the child not being monitored correctly."
The baby monitors are sold online by Boots, McCabes Pharmacy and Currys.
Anyone who purchased one of the products is advised to "discontinue use immediately" and contact their supplier "to see if there are any remedies available".
