A man in his late teens has died after being struck by a bus in Longford town this evening.
Emergency services arrived at the scene at the Convent Road junction at around 6.15pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The scene remains sealed off and traffic diversions are in place.
A forensic examination will take place tomorrow morning.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage, to contact them.
