Irish films and actors are being tipped for success at the British Academy Awards or BAFTAs, which take place in London this evening.
Martin McDonagh's dark comedy 'The Banshees of Inisherin' has 10 nominations and is tipped to win best film.
The film's leading man Colin Farrell is one of the favourites to win best actor.
The film's other stars Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon have also received nominations
In fact, half the nominations for leading actor are Irish with Paul Mescal also nominated for 'Aftersun' and Daryl McCormack in with a chance for 'Good Luck to You Leo Grande'.
'An Cailín Ciúin', the first Irish language film to be nominated, is said to have a chance for Best Film not in the English language.
Two other films set in Ireland, 'Wonder' an adaption of the Emma Donoghue novel and the short film 'An Irish Goodbye' are also nominated for awards.
