A body has been removed from the scene of a helicopter crash that occurred in Co Kildare yesterday evening.
The Robinson R44 light helicopter crashed in a field in Brannockstown, around 6km southeast of Kilcullen.
A body was removed from the scene today to Naas Mortuary where formal identification will take place.
Gardaí will prepare a file for the Coroner's Court.
The Air Accident Investigation Unit said it completed its on-site activities at the location of the crash.
The AAIU was due to conduct a site survey, as well as interviews with witnesses.
The wreckage is being transported under escort to its examination facility in Gormanston.
The AAIU said "all circumstances" of the flight will be considered as part of its investigation, adding that a preliminary report into the incident will be published within the next month.
