Around 50,000 passengers are expected to depart on flights from Dublin Airport today.

They include Liverpool and Leinster fans travelling to France to watch their teams play in the UEFA Champions League Final in Paris and European Champions Cup Final in Marseille.

Airport operator daa said that despite "another busy weekend" at the airport, queues through security are moving well and it is taking under 45 minutes for passengers to get through security in both Terminal 1 and 2.

However, it has indicated this could increase at busy points during the weekend.

In a statement to RTÉ News, the daa said that while times "may edge slightly higher than this at busy points" over the weekend, a "controlled" queuing system is in place to ensure passengers get through to take their flights.

It has also reminded passengers to arrive at the airport up to two and-a-half hours ahead of a short-haul flight and three and-a-half hours before a long-haul flight.
