Ms Justice Mary Irvine is set to retire as High Court President at the end of the legal year.
This morning she informed colleagues of her decision to stand down.
Ms Justice Mary Irvine is the first female President of the High Court - one of Ireland's most senior judicial positions. She was appointed by the Government to the role in June 2020.
She previously was a High Court judge, served on the Court of Appeal and was also appointed to the Supreme Court in 2019.
