A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of 36-year-old Sandra Boyd, who was shot dead at her parents' home in Dublin on Saturday night.
The mother of five was shot in the chest with a pistol at the back of the house at Collins Place in Finglas East.
She was taken to the Mater Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardaí suspect that someone in the house had access to an illegal firearm and that Ms Boyd may have intervened before she was shot.
A firearm has been recovered and has been sent for ballistic testing.
