A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of withholding information in connection with the murder of Ashling Murphy.
The 23-year-old primary school teacher was attacked and killed while out for a run along the Grand Canal in Tullamore, Co Offaly, on 12 January.
The married couple, who are in their 60s, were arrested in Dublin yesterday morning.
They are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and are being questioned at separate garda stations in Portlaoise and Tullamore.
Their period of detention was extended today for a second 24 hours.
They can be questioned for up to three days.
Jozef Puska, 31, with an address at Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Co Offaly, is currently before the courts facing a charge of murdering Ms Murphy.
