A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for tomorrow for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford.
According to Met Éireann, persistent rain on Christmas Day will give a total of 30-50mm of rain.
This may lead to localised flooding.
The warning, issued earlier this morning, comes into effect at midnight tonight and will run until 11pm.
The forecaster said that tomorrow will be a wet, cloudy and breezy day, with widespread rain and a risk of spot flooding.
