A boy who broke his leg while attending a children's party has settled his High Court action for €66,000.
The settlement was approved by Mr Justice Garrett Simons who was told Harry Mulvany, then seven years old, had climbed a garden wall and pulled a loose block on himself, causing the injury.
The judge said it was a very good outcome in the case.
He said the scar on the boy's leg was not in an obvious place and he was satisfied the amount offered would not be increased if the case went to a full hearing.
The now 12-year-old from Claremorris in Co Mayo had sued through his mother Fiona Mulvany.
The action was taken against Kevin and Laura Greene from Sallins in Co Kildare after the accident on 14 July 2016.
The court heard the boy was at a children's party when the top of a column of blocks which formed part of the boundary wall fell down on him.
In his High Court action, it was claimed there was an alleged failure to design, construct or maintain a boundary wall in a good and proper manner causing it to be defective and hazardous.
It was also claimed the child should have been warned of the danger.
Barrister Thomas Clarke told the court liability was conceded in the case.
He said the boy suffered an undisplaced fracture to his right lower leg and a large laceration.
In hospital, he was treated under general anesthetic.
The wound was cleaned and he was given a splint.
He later had to use crutches and could not take part in physical activities such as sports for a time.
