A Status Yellow rain and thunderstorm warning in place for 22 counties for much of today has expired.
Met Éireann had warned of heavy, potentially thundery downpours breaking out throughout the afternoon and this evening, producing localised flooding in some areas.
It applied to all of Leinster and all of Connacht, as well as counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Tipperary and Waterford.
Tonight will be cloudy with scattered showers continuing overnight, and will be heavy in places. Temperatures will not fall below 13C to 16C tonight.
Tomorrow will begin with showers, turning heavy in places. Highest temperatures will range between 16C to 20C.
Met Éireann forecasts that the days ahead will be cooler and a littler fresher but becoming somewhat more settled over the weekend and into next week.
