Girl, 17, dies in Co Meath road crash

A 17-year-old girl has died and two other people have been injured in a road crash in Co Meath.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at Pelletstown, Drumree, at around 4.40pm.

A man in his 20s was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where his condition is described as serious.

A teenage boy was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown with non-life threatening injuries.

The girl's body was removed to Our Lady's Hospital Navan where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

The road was closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly any road users with camera footage, including dash-cam, to contact Ashbourne Garda station on 01 801 0600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
