A 62-year-old man is still being questioned in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found in a burned-out car in north Cork two days ago.

The man was arrested yesterday afternoon and is being questioned at Fermoy Garda Station on suspicion of unlawful killing.

The body of 72-year-old Mary O'Keeffe, from Dromahane in Mallow, was found in the front seat of a burned-out car in Dromdeer Woods near Doneraile on Thursday afternoon.

Both that car, and Ms O'Keeffe's own car which was found one kilometre away, have been removed for forensic examination.

The results of a post-mortem examination carried out on Ms O'Keeffe's body, which was concluded yesterday evening, have been given to gardaí.  

The findings are not being released for operational reasons.  

Ms O'Keeffe, a widow, is survived  by her three grown-up sons.
