A man in his 40s has been arrested after another man was seriously assaulted in Dublin last night. 

The man, who is in his early 30s, was taken to the Mater hospital with stab wounds to the face and abdomen.

The incident occurred at a flat on the North Circular Road at around 10.20pm. 

The man who was arrested is being held at Store Street Garda Station.
